No, that's not an editorial remark. According to Nature Climate Change earthworms are the latest bad boys in the war against global warming. According to these pseudo-scientists:
"The presence of worms affects how much carbon dioxide is produced in the soil and how much escapes to the atmosphere. Scientists are concerned that earthworms increase greenhouse gas emissions – and that earthworm numbers are on the rise."
Which begs the obvious questions
Who went out and counted all the earthworms?
Who paid for it?
Who takes a word of this seriously?
The global warming crowd is trying so hard to convince everyone that the science is settled. If that's so, who do they keep trotting out junk science?
If we ever get to a place where we can have a serious conversation about responsible stewardship of our God-given resources, I'm all in. Until then I fart in your general direction.
