0 By all means, shoot yourselves in the foot.

It has been my observation over a lot of years that one rarely accomplishes anything positive when one ridicules the closely-held beliefs of others. Nonetheless the Liberals/Progressives, led by their spiritual leader, Barack Obama, are doing just that.

Case in point - Representative Steve Cohen. From WMCTV in Memphis, TN:

"The TEA Party people are kind of, without robes and hoods, they have really shown a very hardcore angry side of America that is against any type of diversity. And we saw opposition to African Americans, hostility toward gays, hostility to anybody who wasn't just, you know, a clone of George Wallace's fan club. And I'm afraid they've taken over the Republican Party," Cohen said on the show.

I would opine that that statement says a lot more about Representative Cohen than it does about the TEA Party crowd. But that is beside the point. The Liberals/Progressives are trying to paint the TEA Party as radical right-wingers. But they have a problem--

According to Gallup, the party affiliation of the TEA Party is as follows:

Republican 49
Independent 43
Democrat 8

Add those numbers up and you see that Republicans make up less than half of the total.

Keep it up, Mr. President. The Republicans were pissed at you from the beginning. Now you're working hard at pissing off everyone else.
