I wonder if the news outlets would have wall-to-wall coverage of a snow storm that pummeled Chicago? Perhaps Kansas City? Maybe Nashville?

I kinda doubt it.

National news organizations are not unlike the political intelligentsia. They all live inside the Washington beltway and think that the world revolves around them.

Not so much, guys. Us plain old Americans just want to quietly go about our lives with as little interference from you as possible. When it snows we shovel our way out and don't make a lot of fuss about it. Try rolling up your sleeves--it'll be a new experience for you.
